Christmas decorations are up!

Well, we got around to putting up the Christmas tree today. What can I say... it wasn't the magical holiday experience I imagined (cue problems getting the tree into the stand, tangled garland, a broken ornament) but we did have Christmas music in the background and now everyone is taking a nap so I would say it was a success!

Little Sis loves Big Sis's room, as should be expected right? Maybe I should try bringing her in there when she is screaming at night from her teething pain...Ugh, why do these girls cut teeth so early?

Thought I should post a few more pictures of the girls. Hubby has been on another business trip this past week so it has just been us girls hanging out at the house. I have to admit that taking care of both of them by myself is not a piece of cake and I am VERY glad hubby is going to be home today. If anyone has any tips on how to deal with a 2 year old just being a 2 year old (i.e. obstinate, stubborn, etc.), my ears are open!!!

Hurricanes, ugh...

Sorry it has been so long since my last post. For some reason, things have been crazy around here. My parents evacuated for Hurricane Gustav (which missed Orange) and now are here as evacuees from Hurricane Ike. Fortunately, my parent's house suffered no damage (from what we have heard) but they are waiting to hear about when power is going to be restored before rushing home. It is nice having helping hands around the house with the kiddos.

Little sis is growing like a weed and Big sis is finally well from all of her sicknesses. Here is a picture of Big sis flying a kite yesterday - I will try to post more pics later!

Baby girl #2 arrives

She is finally here! And she made her appearance on her due date - I guess she has a little bit of her mommy's planning skills in her. It is definitely an adjustment having a newborn in the house again as I'm sure you can tell by the time that I am posting this message but I can see improvement every night and that is enough to keep us going for now. Here are a few pics to enjoy: Also, I am accepting nominations on what to call each of the girls on the blog - baby girl #1 and baby girl #2 sounds a little impersonal!

Still pregnant

FYI - Yes, I am still pregnant. I will be 39 weeks later this week and even though my OB offered to induce me at that point, I declined (for now). I am scheduled to see my acupuncturist Monday to help prepare my body for labor and delivery. If I am still pregnant when I see the OB at the end of the week, I definitely will schedule an induction for next week. No reason to go past the due date, right? So those of you who voted for this week or next in the poll are still in the running to win!

Hubby has done a super job on the kitchen cabinets. He has finished half the kitchen so far and hopefully, I can help him finish the second half once I get baby girl #2 out and settled!

Trip to the exotic zoo

We decided to venture out today and head towards the Hill Country. Instead of dragging Baby girl from shop to shop in Fredricksburg, we decided to visit an exotic zoo just north of Johnson City. Hubby and I didn't have high expectations, but it was actually a lot of fun and they had TONS of animals. Baby girl particulary liked the lemurs and the ever popular zebra (sorry I didn't get a pic of that one). We then drove back to Austin and stopped off at Reimers Ranch park to have a picnic. Reimers Ranch was beautiful and worth a trip back when I am not pregnant (tons of mountain biking trails and rock-climbing).

More birthday celebrations

On Baby Girl's actual birthday we had a couple of her swimming buddies over for cupcakes. They had a great time and it was nice having such a low-key celebration. This past weekend we went to Houston so we could celebrate with hubby's family. Baby girl had a fantastic time dragging her Grammie and Great-Grammie (and anyone else available) all over the house. I am sure everyone slept well last night!

The BIG 2!

Since we had family in this past weekend for Uncle T's wedding, we decided to have early b-day party for baby girl. So here she is trying out her new playhouse and slide. Guess I am going to have to spend a lot more time outside this summer than I would like!
